If you live in Missouri or Michigan and you are caring for a family member, Medicaid may pay you for that. We handle the enrollment so you do not have to fight through the system alone.
What this is
Caregiving is real work. This pays you for it.
Programs like Missouri Consumer Directed Services and the Michigan Home Help Program let the people who need care choose who provides it. That can be you. You keep your loved one at home, where they are most comfortable, and you get paid for the care you are already giving. Blue Lake acts as your support team, handling the paperwork, payroll, and ongoing help.
What you can earn
Your pay depends on your state, the program, and the amount of care approved
Michigan Home Help
Up to [VERIFY: $17.13] an hour, up to [VERIFY: about 180] hours a month.
Missouri CDS
Roughly [VERIFY: $15 to $20] an hour, set within program limits.

Who qualifies
Most adult relatives and trusted friends can be the paid caregiver
Generally, an adult child, sibling, grandchild, other adult relative, or a trusted friend can be the paid caregiver. The person receiving care needs Medicaid and needs help with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, meals, or getting around.
Important: In both Missouri and Michigan, a spouse usually cannot be the paid caregiver, and a parent cannot be paid to care for their own minor child. If that is your situation, do not worry. We can often still help by sending a paid aide instead. Check your eligibility and we will point you the right way.
